Pets of the Week, Nov. 3, 2020

This week our featured pets are Archie and Charlie.

Archie

Archie is from the Royal Kitten Litter and a descendant of Duchess, the mamma cat who was adopted last month. Archie (full name: Archie Harrison Mountbatten Windsor II) and his siblings lived with a foster family with dogs and other cats, and they all got along famously! Currently, this aristocat lives in a kitty condo at the humane society where he likes to play hide and seek with the other kittens and chill on his “throne” (soft bed) by the window.

Archie knows how to use the litter box, is up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines, and neutered – all he needs now is a new palace. Meet Archie and see if this magnificent feline is meant to bring a little nobility to your home.

Charlie is a Pitbull Terrier mix who likes other dogs, children, and grown-up humans, too. Basically, Charlie likes everyone! This hunk of burning love is two-years-old and has a happy-go-lucky approach to life.  He greets everyone he meets with a wagging tail and gives great hugs!

Charlie

Charlie spent some time as office assistant last week and was a Very Good Boi. Lots of times, when a dog gets to be the office helper it’s so exciting that they have an accident. Not Charlie! He sniffed around, played with a toy, and finally curled up under the desk at my feet. He’s not much help with filing (no opposable thumbs), but he will make a warm and loving addition to any family.

Come meet Charlie, and you’ll see we’re right. He’s up-to-date on his vaccinations, microchipped, and oh so ready to find a place to call home.

The 7th Annual Pints for Pets is around the corner! It’s DBCHS’s biggest fundraiser of the year, and we hope you will join us – virtually – the week of November 16.

Instead of the traditional one-night Pub Crawl Downtown Danville looks forward to every year, we’re taking it off the streets and to your screen to be safe and follow CDC guidelines. We’ve got a doggone cool commemorative teeshirt that looks great with any mask, a spirit card with deals from our generous sponsors, and meowntains of prizes. Register now at https://www.givesignup.org/TicketEvent/PintsforPets.

The Danville-Boyle County Humane Society was established in 1972 to promote companion animals’ humane treatment through sheltering, adoptions, community education, and spay and neuter programs. DBCHS is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization dependent on monetary gifts from generous individuals and businesses in our community.

To donate, please visit DBCHS.org or mail a check to DBCHS P.O. Box 487, Danville, KY 40423-0487. Your monetary gift will make a difference in a deserving dog or cat’s life, and we appreciate every dollar. Thank you for your support!
